A project in Cheboygan County is being recommended for a Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant of $3 million.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) have recommended 13 projects across the state for a combined grant total of over $7.4 million.
Included on the list is a grant for lock and dam public water access site renovations in Cheboygan.
“Today’s $7.4 million in projects will improve facilities people use every day and support the outdoor recreation economy that brings billions in value and supports thousands of jobs across Michigan,” said Whitmer.
The project recommendations will now head to the National Park Service for final approval.
