Ronald Gene Lancewicz, 90, of Alpena passed away August 28, 2023, at home.
Ronald was born February 8, 1933, in Cheboygan, Michigan to the late John and Violet (Gouine) Lancewicz. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On December 29, 1954, he married Inge Foos. She preceded him in death on September 8, 2020. Ron worked at Huron Portland Cement, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Alpena Free Methodist Church and enjoyed construction. He especially liked spending time with family.
Surviving are his three children, Ronald (Tammy) Lancewicz Jr., Olen (Teri) Lancewicz, Marianne (Cary) Modrzynski; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers, Gary (Carlene) Lancewicz, Richard (Diane) Szymanski; three sisters, Kay (Don) Hinman, Sally Jensen, and Annie (Jim) McMillian.
Ron was preceded in death by his son, John Lancewicz; granddaughter, Mila; three brothers, Darrell Lancewicz, John Lancewicz, and Joseph Lancewicz.
Visitation will take place Thursday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. with military honors by Alpena VFW Post 2496 at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue there Friday at 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard George officiating.
