Representatives of multiple wars will be on hand as Alpena celebrates Memorial Day Monday.
Ceremonies will be held at the county courthouse followed by Little Flanders Field off Washington Avenue.
The ceremonies pay tribute to the many military men and women who have died in America’s wars, as well as veterans and current members of the U.S. military.
The events start with a memorial presentation at the county courthouse at 9:30 a.m., including the laying of flowers. That will be followed by a parade to Little Flanders Field where an annual ceremony of events will be held at 11 a.m. sharp.
The events include laying of wreaths by veterans of multiple wars, a rifle salute, the playing of Taps, ringing of the bells and a closing prayer.
