Clarence Robert “Bob” Egelski

Clarence Robert “Bob” Egelski, 81, of Alpena passed away Friday, September 15, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center – Alpena.

Bob was born in Alpena on August 26, 1942, to the late Clarence and Elva (Hibner) Egelski. He served in the United States Marine Corp, 2nd Battalion, Platoon 262, during the Vietnam Era. Bob was an accomplished flooring installer; his career began at Quality House in Alpena, continued after his move to Virginia in the early 80’s then Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in the mid-90’s until his retirement and return to Alpena in 2015. He enjoyed watching sports, especially college football and looked forward to the Little League World Series every year. Bob spent much time coaching Bryon and Leslie in baseball/softball, and tossing footballs, riding dirt bikes, working on cars; he especially enjoyed the time he spent with Bryon restoring the “Stang”. In more recent years, Bob became his apartment complex “go-to/handy man”, and enjoyed taking “Amy”, his Jeep Wrangler for drives.

Surviving are his daughter, Leslie Egelski; 4 siblings, Darlene Edwards, Marie Homestead, Diane Grzeskowiak, Ronald (Laurie) Egelski; many nieces and nephews and special friends.

Mr. Egelski was preceded in death by son, Bryon Egelski; 2 siblings, Judy Homestead and Jerry Egelski.

Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home. A family graveside service will take place at a later date.
