A memorial roll call and bell ringing ceremony is being held at the Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum in Rogers City Saturday, to remember the victims of the SS Daniel J. Morrell, a freighter that sank in Lake Huron.
The ship went down on November 29, 1966.
Twenty-eight of 29 crewmembers perished in that tragedy.
The public is invited to attend the memorial roll call and bell ringing ceremony, which begins at 1 p.m. Attendees will be able to visit different areas of the museum after the program, including the memorial hall, which holds artifacts and memorabilia of the ship and others.
