Alpena girls swim team in action, Wildcat boys soccer loses to TC Central

On Tuesday, the Alpena girls swim team faced Caro and lost 99-59 at home.  “The team faced some challenges, but overall improved their times individually.  The team is continuing to develop with more endurance and strength.” coach Jen Johnson said.  The Wildcats will travel to Standish on September 19th for a 5 pm meet.

The Alpena girls swim team also took seventh place in the Stephanie Rice Memorial Invitational on Saturday.  “The team is working hard and improving their times significantly,” coach Jen Johnson said. High scorers were junior Sarah Rabbideau, freshman Tryst Bukowiecki and senior Hannah McConnell.  “Other coaches commented on the enthusiasm and excitement of having the Alpena Swim Team back after years of no competition,” Johnson said.  “We are looking forward to continued progress and growth as a team.”

The Alpena boys soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision on the road at Traverse City Central. The Wildcats are 1-5-1 on the year.
