The Montmorency County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate several of the 116 complaints called in over the week.
That includes a dispute between two men at Rite Aid in Lewsiton last Tuesday. No details have been released.
A deputy responded to an accident between a vehicle and a bear Wednesday morning on County Road 624. No one was injured and the bear ran off. That same morning a 34 year-old woman from Alpena was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs and driving while license revoked.
A conservation officer with the Department of Natural Resources was sent to Old State Road in Vienna Township around noon Thursday, on a report that “a bunch of deer legs” were found on the road. Police said it appeared the legs were “freshly cut off” and the investigation is ongoing.
A male victim was taken to the hospital for minor injuries Friday, following an all-terrain vehicle accident on Stevens Springs Road. And deputies responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident on M-32, west of Atlanta, Saturday morning. No one was injured.
