Police investigate stolen paddle boards & a kayak on Mulllet Lake

Residents living on the shores of Mullet Lake in Cheboygan County should take precautions to protect their property following three recent larcenies.

Sometime between July 5-16, a thief or thieves stole three paddleboards and a kayak off the docks of three residences on the north side of the lake, in the area of McDonald Road.

Cheboygan County Sheriff Dale Clarmont believes the thief or thieves may have used a boat or walked in the water, along the shoreline. “From talking with the victims the crimes are occurring after dark,” Clarmont added.

The stolen paddleboards include a yellow and white O’Brien board, a light green and white Rusty board, and a white and brown Jimmy Styks board. The kayak is a yellow camo pattern Piranha Fusion.

Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity. Anyone with information on the stolen items, or the thief or thieves, is asked to call police at 231-627-3155.
