STATE TRACK AND FIELD FINALS:

DIVISION 4:

Some athletes from Alcona Community Schools performed exceptionally well at the state finals Saturday, including Lily Bilbey who is the state champ in the girls 100 meter and 200 meter runs, and runner up in the 400 meter run. Kelsey Hansen took 2nd place in the girls shot put. Alcona only had 3 girls competing yet were able to capture 3rd place overall.

DIVISION 1:

Alpena High School’s Cooper Bright finished 11th in the boys 400 meter run; and Madi Szymanski finished 14th in the girls 3,200 meter run.

GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL:

The Rogers City Hurons are moving on to regional play after capturing their 9th consecutive district title on Saturday. The Hurons beat Inland Lakes in the district title game, 8-6.

The Hillman Tigers also won a district title, beating Johannesburg-Lewiston in the title game, 5-1.

BOYS HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL:

The Rogers City boys won a district title Saturday, defeating 3rd ranked Johannesburg-Lewiston in the finals, 2-1.
