Class of 2021 downtown party precedes graduation Sunday

It’s a big weekend for seniors of Alpena High School, who will be partying in downtown Friday night and graduating on Sunday.

A Senior Festival for the Class of 2021 will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, on a blocked-off section of Second Avenue, between Chisholm Street and Park Place/River Street.

That section of downtown will be closed to all traffic from noon until about midnight.

Kids will enjoy all kinds of different activities from corn hole to cards, dancing, knocker ball and more. There will also be food and drink.

Commencement will be held inside Wildcat Stadium on Sunday, starting at 1:30 p.m. The ceremony will be moved to Monday at 6 p.m. in the event of inclement weather.
