Alcona deputies respond to domestic violence, assault, animal neglect & more

Deputies with the Alcona County Sheriff’s Office investigated three complaints last week for domestic violence, two for threats or harassment and one for animal neglect.

There were five calls for fraud, three for assault, three for civil disputes, and one each for gun shots fired and drunk and disorderly.

Deputies made one arrest for assault and were on scene of six traffic crashes.

The department responded to a total of 87 complaints, a significant increase over the prior week. Residents of Hawes Township placed the most calls to police.
