APS encourages all to get tested prior to resuming in-person learning Monday

PRESS RELEASE FROM ALPENA PUBLIC SCHOOLS:

Alpena Public Schools will resume in-person learning beginning Monday, May 3rd.

Our COVID-19 Mitigation Protocols will be strictly enforced.

These include proper wearing of masks (over the nose and mouth), social distancing, proper hand hygiene, and staying home when showing symptoms, have a positive COVID-19 test result, or have recently been in close contact with a positive individual.

It is recommended that schools utilize weekly COVID-19 testing, therefore, we will be offering a rapid test opportunity for our APS staff, students and families tomorrow, Saturday, May 1st from 10 am to 4 pm in the parking lot of Thunder Bay Junior High. Preregistration is strongly encouraged by visiting http://honumg.info/ThunderBay.

We strongly encourage our staff, students, and family members to take advantage of this service. Having a test result will help you make the right decision on Monday morning.

Our in-person learning success for the remaining five weeks relies on our willingness to do what is in the best interest of the health and safety of others. We ask your cooperation as we approach the end of this challenging school year.
