Police in Montmorency Co. respond to scams & crashes

The Montmorency County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple scams last Wednesday, each one a different type.

Officials remind residents to never give out personal information over the telephone. Several new scams are reported weekly.

The department logged a total of 86 calls for help last week.

Deputies responded to two crashes Thursday. No one was injured when two vehicles collided around 7:45 p.m. in Albert Township. About a half-hour later a resident of Hillman Village called to report that she had hit a deer near Farrier and Hunt roads. She was not hurt.

And, two females were treated for minor injuries following a single vehicle accident on County Road 612 late Sunday night. The driver said she slid off the road and struck a tree. No other details were released.
