Another probable COVID case at Alcona schools

PRESS RELEASE FROM ALCONA COMMUNITY SCHOOLS:

November 19th, 2020

Dear Parent/Guardian:

A probable case of COVID-19 was discovered in connection to a third-grade classroom.

Alcona Community Schools is working collaboratively with District Health Department No. 2. School staff will notify impacted students and staff about quarantine status.

Confidentiality (or HIPAA/FERPA) laws prevent us from providing any personally-identifying information to those impacted.

Quarantined students will learn remotely on the 20th of November. The teacher will be in contact regarding learning for students.

Alcona Community Schools is collaborating with the District Health Department No. 2 to ensure that all precautions have been taken to protect your child(ren). The district will continue to proceed with our
other academic and extracurricular programming. Please monitor your child(ren) for the onset of symptoms related to COVID-19, including fever, cough, difficulty breathing, headache, diarrhea, new fatigue, or loss of taste or smell. If you notice any change
in your child’s health, please keep them home and call your regular medical provider.
