A West Virginia man was arrested Saturday after threatening several people in Onaway with a gun.
At 4 pm on Saturday, troopers from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post responded to a home on M-33 in Onaway after a report of an alleged felonious assault. The suspect fled the scene and was later stopped and arrested by the Montmorency County Sheriff’s Department.
Tony Raymond Brown, 58, of Beckley, West Virginia was charged with 5 counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and 2 counts of felony firearms.
Police say Brown came to the property of his ex-wife and allegedly pointed 2 pistols at several people on the property while threatening them. Brown fired one shot in the air before leaving. A .45 caliber shell casing was recovered at the scene.
Brown was released on a $100,000 cash bond. He will be in court next Tuesday.
