Alpena High School is hosting virtual Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) sessions for families of students in the 12th and 13th grade.
Staff from the high school will be joined by their peers from Alpena Community College to assist with information to complete the FAFSA, which is necessary to obtain financial assistance to help pay for higher education and training.
The online sessions will be available as recordings on the Alpena Public Schools Facebook page this Thursday and on Monday, October 26, both at 7 p.m. They are also available by calling 358-5243.
Students are encouraged to register online for a Federal Student Aid ID in advance of the sessions.
“The FAFSA form is very important, it is used for grants, scholarships, loans and work study programs”, said Lori Vought, counselor at AHS. “All families can benefit from completing the FAFSA regardless of their financial situation.”
Families with questions can contact the AHS counseling office at 358-5217.
