Paw Paw man arrested in Alpena for assault

A downstate man was arrested in Alpena last month for an assault with a dangerous weapon that happened in August.


On August 28th, a trooper from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post was dispatched to Bolton Road in Maple Ridge Township for a report of an assault. The investigation led to an arrest warrant.
Timothy John Sharp, 61, of Paw Paw was arrested on September 23rd at his residence by troopers from the MSP Paw Paw Post.
During the August incident, the victim called 911 to report he and his brother had gotten in an argument at their mother’s home and Sharp allegedly pointed a pistol at the victim’s forehead. A .22 caliber pistol was recovered at the house.
Sharp was lodged in the Alpena County Jail and charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
