MI motorists enjoy falling prices at the pumps

The average price for a gallon of gasoline in Michigan is approaching $2 as prices continue to slowly fall.

AAA says the new statewide average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is about $2.04, down 6 cents over the week.

Of the cities it surveys, AAA found the highest price for gas in Marquette where drivers are paying about $2.26 per gallon. The lowest price of $1.88 was found in Grand Rapids.

As of early Tuesday morning, motorists in the Alpena area were paying an average of about $1.75 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel, down 8 cents from one week ago.
