Montmorency deputies respond to rash of domestic disputes & more

Deputies with the Montmorency County Sheriff’s Office responded to at least seven disputes over the week, including domestic, civil, and verbal altercations.

One of them led to an arrest after officers were sent to Elkwoods Trail in Briley Township Thursday. Following an investigation, a 28 year-old woman was taken into custody for domestic violence, driving on a suspended license, and an outstanding warrant.

A passerby called 911 shortly after 3 a.m. Friday to report a vehicle in the ditch on M-32, near Ace Hardware in Hillman. Deputies and an EMS crew were sent to the scene. A 36 year-old woman was transported to the hospital for evaluation. No details of the incident were released.

Someone called 911 early Sunday morning to report a suspicious vehicle in the BP gas station parking lot in Hillman. A deputy responded and subsequently arrested the 20 year-old male driver for operating while intoxicated. Later that morning a deputy was sent to a home on Buttles Road in Albert Township for a domestic dispute. A 39 year-old woman was jailed on an outstanding warrant.

The sheriff’s office responded to a total of 121 complaints over the week.
