A 27 year-old man who admitted to sexually assaulting three young boys in Presque Isle County will remain in prison after the Michigan Court of Appeals turned down his arguments on the convictions and sentences.

Dylan Michael Haire was convicted in 2018 on multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct and other charges following a bench trial.

The evidence included hundreds of photographs of explicit images of children and a confession that he sexually assaulted the boys, who were between the ages of 2 and 7, while living in an adult foster care home in 2017.

Haire was subsequently sentenced to a maximum penalty of 62.5 to 95 years in prison with a consecutive sentence of 19 to 60 years. The Court of Appeals recently turned down his arguments for a new trial and/or sentencing.

Haire grew up in the Rogers City area but eventually moved to Alpena. He was also convicted of possession of child sexually abusive material in Alpena, after he was caught with child pornographic images.

Haire is being held at the Chippewa Correctional Facility in Kincheloe.
