Cheboygan men in their 40’s busted on numerous drug charges

Three Cheboygan men, all in their 40’s and all with previous drug convictions are facing lengthy prison stays after being busted on new charges.

Last Tuesday detectives from Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement (S.A.N.E.) executed a search warrant at a home in Cheboygan where they seized unknown amounts of methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl and Suboxone, along with cash, short-barrel shotgun, 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and other evidence.

Detectives also arrested 44 year-old Shawn Miller, 45 year-old Lorenzo Martinez III, and 49 year-old Anthony Beckett. Miller is facing up to 40 years in prison and/or a $50,000 fine on multiple counts of delivery of methamphetamine. Martinez was charged with possession of heroin and faces up to 8 years in prison and/or a $50,000; and Beckett has been charged with numerous counts including possession with intent to deliver heroin, heroin/fentanyl, and meth. He is facing a maximum penalty of up to 40 years in prison and/or a $50,000 fine.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
