On the heels of Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s latest executive orders amending Michigan’s Safe Start Order, the city of Alpena has returned to virtual only municipal council meetings until the orders are lifted.

Whitmer’s action was in response to a resurgence in COVID-19 cases and among other things limits statewide indoor gatherings to 10 people or less.

The public may attend city meetings via computer, tablet or smartphone only. Citizens can make public comment at meetings by requesting so through use of the conference software.

Information on how to connect to virtual meetings can be viewed on the city’s website.
