Last week was busy at the Montmorency County Sheriff’s Office, which logged 143 complaints.

Deputies made seven arrests including one for drunk driving. Two others were made following traffic stops. That included a 44 year-old woman who was said to be driving erratically last Tuesday. She was pulled over and subsequently jailed for driving without a license.

A 23 year-old man was taken into custody for drunk driving that same night, following a traffic stop on M-32 in Avery Township.

Someone called 911 shortly after 2 a.m. Friday to report a disturbance at Oak Leaf Manor apartments in Albert Township. The investigation ended with the arrest of a 30 year-old man and a 21 year-old woman for resisting a police officer.

Later that day a domestic assault was reported by a resident in the same township. A man involved in that incident left the scene before police arrived. The investigation is ongoing.
