A downstate teenager was busted over the weekend for allegedly breaking into the Cedar Lake Grocery Store in Greenbush Township.

Deputies from the Alcona County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the store shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday, and found the business had been broken into.

They noticed that numerous liquor bottles had been taken and contacted the Michigan State Police K9 unit out of Gaylord for help.

Deputies were able to locate a suspect in a nearby residence around noon. The 15 year-old boy from Livonia was taken into custody and a juvenile petition is being sought through the prosecutor’s office.

The teen’s name has not been released.
