Brown Trout Fishing Tournament Kicks off Saturday

Submitted by on July 14, 2020 – 12:00 amNo Comment

The 46th annual Michigan Brown Trout Festival fishing tournament in Alpena starts this Saturday, July 18th and goes until July 26th at the boat harbor.

It will be different this year, because of Covid-19.  There will be no big tent.  The small tent will only be used for Captain’s meetings, merchandise sales and the tournament leader boards.

Unfortunately, there will be no alcoholic beverages this year because of the pandemic.  The committee is asking for your help by not bringing alcohol into the area.  Violations could jeopardize the liquor license for next year.

Fishing registration will start this Thursday at noon and continue into Friday with the fishing tournaments starting Saturday.  You are welcome to view the daily weigh in of the fish, but keep in mind that masks are required and to practice social distancing guidelines.

Food, water, and pop will be available for purchase. 107.7 the Bay and 99.9 the Wave will have 5 updates daily beginning Friday from the Michigan Brown Trout Festival.  Go to michiganbrowntroutfestival.com or check them out on facebook for more info.
