Motorists will experience some delays along a more than nine mile stretch of Interstate 75 in Cheboygan County.

Beginning Monday, crews for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will start resurfacing a 9.6 mile section of the interstate from the North Central State Trail bridge to north of Mullet-Burt Road in the northbound direction, and from the North Central State Trail bridge to north of M-27 in the southbound direction.

This stretch of roadway is located north of Indian River.

MDOT will spend more than $1 million chip and fog sealing the road. The project also includes new pavement markings.

Drivers should expect delays due to single-lane closures and traffic shifts.

The project is expected to be completed by Friday, August 28.
