Studley takes over for Storch as AD

Storch has been with Alpena Public Schools for nearly 9 years, starting as boys’ soccer coach in the fall of 2011. He became athletic director in 2014. He will continue coaching soccer at the high school.

Jon Studley has replaced Storch as athletic director and will also serve as “testing coordinator.”

Studely spent the past four years as director of athletics for West Branch-Rose City Schools. Prior to that he worked at both Tawas Area Schools and Caro Community Schools.

“It is an honor to become a part of the Wildcats family,” said Studely. “Alpena is an athletic program that is on the rise and I could not be more excited to lead this program. I am looking forward to working with coaches, administration, staff, community members and our student athletes.”

Studley graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor of arts in athletic coaching and arned a master’s degree from CMU in sports administration. He is a 2001 graduate of Tawas Area High School. Studley and wife Shannon have a two year-old daughter, Maizy.

The Michigan Interscholastic Administrators Association named Studely the region 14 Athletic Director of the Year for 2019-2020.
