There will be no graduation ceremony at Alpena Community College on May 7.

Officials have postponed commencement and other year-end activities until further notice.

According to a press release, the college made the decision “With the health and safety of students, employees, and the public as its top priority…”

Eligible students who have submitted a graduation application will still graduate.  ACC Registrar Sheila Rupp will complete graduation audits after spring semester grades are posted to verify completion of requirements, and degrees/certificates will be awarded to all eligible graduates.

Questions regarding graduation status should be directed to Rupp’s office.

The college also said students should check BlackBoard and ACC email daily to make sure they are completing all assignments and necessary course work.  In addition, ACC will continue to provide updates on changes/cancellations and student resources through its COVID-19 web page.
