A 3rd grade student at Besser Elementary School received more accolades this week, for completing the most lessons in Michigan through Imagine Math – a supplemental online program that allows students to work at their own pace.

Samuel Fitzpatrick was recently recognized for passing the most lessons by a 3rd grader in the State. He’s a student in Mrs. Dunn’s class.

Fitzpatrick was honored at this week’s Alpena City Council meeting with a ‘Special Tribute’ from the State of Michigan, and a ‘Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation’ from the city.

The Special Tribute was signed by Rep. Sue Allor, Senator Jim Stmas and Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

According to Sherri Walker, an employee communications manager with Imagine Math, their program is used by 148 elementary schools in Michigan.
