An informational meeting is being in Alpena Tuesday, for parents who would like more information on raising young children.

The Power of Parenting session will answer questions such as “Am I expecting too much from my young child?” and “Are routines really that important?”

Kelly Mowery of Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency’s Early Head Start program will speak on child development and parenting strategies that nurture young children at various ages.

The presentation is being held inside the media center at Thunder Bay Junior High School, beginning at 6 p.m. Registration is required by 5 p.m. Monday by calling 356-3880.

Another Power of Parenting forum will be held March 17. It will focus on the social-emotional competence of children.
