The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce announced it’s Citizen of the Year Thursday night, an award that went to someone you may have met before – “by accident.”

Steve Plowman, owner of Plowman’s Collision received the award during the chamber’s annual dinner event.

Plowman is said to be dedicated to family, community and religion. He is said to be a giving member of the community, but very often does that quietly and without a lot of attention. Plowman has helped shape educational programs for the automotive repair industry, volunteers his time to many community efforts, has coached youth sports, served on boards for non-profits, is an active member of his church and a founding member of the South Bay Alpena group.
