The price for a gallon of gasoline was up in Michigan over the week.

AAA says the new statewide average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is about $2.60, up 7 cents.

Of the cities it surveys, AAA found the cheapest price for gas in the Traverse City area where it’s $2.34 per gallon. The highest price of $2.64 was found in Ann Arbor.

Motorists in the Alpena area were paying an average of about $2.50 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel early Tuesday morning, up 4 cents from one week ago.

AAA says there is no immediate threat to crude supply domestically or globally that can support a sustained increase to crude oil prices or domestic wholesale gasoline prices.

Meanwhile, according to the Lundberg Survey, the average U.S. price of regular-grade gasoline has jumped 4 cents per gallon to $2.64 over the past three weeks.
