A former employee of All Saints Catholic School in Alpena has been charged in connection with a child pornography investigation.

Christopher Olsen, 45, was arraigned Monday, on two counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime.

He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison if convicted as charged.

The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit received a tip that Olsen might be engaged in unlawful activity and conducted a search of his home Friday, where they allegedly seized as many as 1,000 pornographic photographs and videos of prepubescent children, some very young.

The images and videos were found on a computer and other electronic devices.

Olsen, who lives in Alpena and was said to be cooperating with investigators, was being held on a $100,000 bond.  He was a janitor and a maintenance person at All Saints.  According to the Diocese of Gaylord, he was no longer employed by the school as of Friday.
