The head of the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce is stepping down.

Jackie Krawczak has announced that after 12.5 years as chamber President and CEO, she has accepted a new job.

Her last day will be Friday, January 24.

“The last 12.5 years have been an incredible journey for me,” said Krawczak.  “I’m proud of where the Chamber is today and believe I’m leaving it in a very strong position, ready for someone new to continue to grow that strength and value.”

While Krawczak did not name her new employer, she did say she would be “staying local” and “working in the area of workforce development and organizational culture.”

The chamber executive board is expected to post the position as early as Wednesday.  For additional information, call 354-4181.
