Man arrested for bribing witness

The Huron Undercover Narcotics Team arrested a Millersburg man on Tuesday for bribing a witness.

Marc Edward Russell, 37, was released on bond from an incident that occurred in August. After his release, Russell went to a house party in Millersburg and got in to a verbal argument. He left the party and later returned with a firearm.

Russell was arrested and charged with felonious assault with a dangerous weapon and felon in possession of a firearm. He posted bond and was released. While awaiting trail, Russell contacted a person uninvolved in the case to offer money in exchange for fictitious testimony. HUNT Detectives began an investigation in to the bribery after consulting with the Presque Isle County Sheriff’s Office.

Russell faces up to 4 years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine for the bribery charge.
