Alpena County Regional Airport is on pace to board the highest number of passengers since 2015.

A total of 1,010 enplanements were counted in November, an increase of 10.5 percent from November 2018.

That pushed the year to date total to 11,383, up 1,145 passengers – or 11.2 percent from the first 11 months of 2018.

Airport Manager Steve Smigelski is optimistic the enplanement total will top 12,000 by the end of the year. The last time that happened was in 2015 when 12,592 passengers were counted.
