An Alpena County man could be in more trouble with the law after he popped suspected drugs into his mouth moments after being sentenced to 11 months in jail.

Kaden Johnson was sentenced Monday, for assaulting or resisting police and disorderly conduct.

Johnson, who lives in Maple Ridge Township, was at the Riverview Apartments in Alpena on August 19, when police were called to the scene and attempted to arrest him. Two female officers struggled to subdue Johnson, even after deploying a Taser gun. The 18 year-old Johnson used profanity during the incident and spit at or on the officers. He was eventually taken into custody.

Following sentencing Monday, Johnson was immediately detained. As he walked through a courtroom door to awaiting deputies, he popped something into his mouth and was told to drop it. A short struggled ensued and Johnson was taken to the ground. Deputies eventually were able to get him to spit out what he had attempted to swallow. It was a small plastic packet that may have contained an unknown drug.

No other details of the incident are known at this time.
