Montmorency deputies make arrests for felonious assault & drunk driving

The Montmorency County Sheriff’s Office handled 97 calls for help over the week, including numerous auto accidents and some domestic disturbances.

A 34 year-old man was arrested for operating while intoxicated last Tuesday, following a traffic stop on Pleasant Valley Road in Hillman.

Deputies were sent to a domestic dispute in Loud Township shortly after midnight Wednesday. A 53 year-old man was subsequently arrested for felonious assault.

Central dispatch was told about a car in a ditch around 1:30 a.m. Friday, off Fleming Road in Albert Township. The car was empty when deputies arrived on scene, however they were able to locate the driver, who was arrested for drunk driving.

The same day deputies broke up a domestic dispute at a residence on Doty Street in Briley Township. No arrests were made.

A 29 year-old man was arrested for drunk driving at 7:27 a.m. Saturday, after police found him sitting in his vehicle near the intersection of County Road 452 and Anchor Lake Rd. And a 28 year-old man was jailed for felonious assault the same day, following a different incident on Doty Street.
