Mindock/Thunder Bay Theatre part ways

The Producing Artistic Director at Thunder Bay Theatre in Alpena is leaving after serving the organization for five years.

The announcement that Jeffrey Mindock was leaving the theatre came in the form of a press release Monday. It said Mindock and the theatre board are parting ways “under mutually agreed upon terms.”

Mindock was responsible for planning, casting, directing, and producing professional shows at the year-round theatre. He also led a team of administrative staff and was responsible for seeking and writing grants to help underwrite and support the non-profit organization.

Molly Stricker, a former managing director for Thunder Bay Theatre, will serve as interim artistic director through the end of the 2019 season. The theatre board plans to begin a search for a permenant director in the near future.

Lisa Larkin, Thunder Bay Theatre Board President said, “A change in artistic directors could mean a change in the 2020 season, but that decision will come from the board, together with the current administrative staff and the new artistic director.”
