An annual holiday parade will march through downtown Alpena in a little more than four weeks.

The Bolenz Jewelry Holiday Parade begins at the county Annex Building at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 29, and continues to the large parking lot behind city hall.

Registration forms are now being accepted for the parade, which are available at the Chamber of Commerce office on Chisholm Street, or at www.alpenachamber.com.

Entries should reflect Christmas and/or the holiday seasons. They will be judged on originality, overall attractiveness, and effort extended. Holiday music and lights are highly encouraged. Entries are competing for trophies and cash awards. Winners will be announced during the tree lighting ceremony following the parade.

Entry forms must be turned in by 5 p.m. on Monday, November 25.

In addition, the 2nd Annual Besser Museum Jingle Bell Run will precede the parade, starting at 5:15 p.m. Runners are encouraged to deck themselves out in Christmas style. For questions and entry forms contact the museum.
