Alpena Public Schools is offering families another tool to help young children become better readers.

The district is offering free bookmarks that are covered with encouraging messages, goals, ideas to improve readings skills and more.

Parents can receive bookmarks by contacting their child’s school, or by downloading them off the district’s website or Facebook page.

“Literacy builds the foundation for a child’s future academic success and economic well-being,” said Lee Fitzpatrick, Parent Involvement Coordinator for APS. “These bookmarks empower parents with techniques to assist their children in becoming better readers.”
