The robotics teams at Alpena High School need some place to store all their stuff.

Administrators will use a portion of a $30,000 Besser Foundation grant, earmarked for robotics, for a large metal shed the program can use to store supplies, robots, miscellaneous electronic parts and more.

The district is currently pricing sheds. A pre-built 16 foot by 24 foot shed will likely cost in the area of $10,000.

Superintendent John VanWagoner told a board of education committee this week, the shed will be placed off the back of the high school to make it easily accessible to the robotics teams. He believes the shed will be installed “before the snow starts to fly.”
