The spirit and excitement of Homecoming at Alpena High School will spill into the streets Friday, for an annual parade, from Ella White Elementary School to the high school.

To accommodate the parade, city police will be closing Third Avenue to all traffic, from Wisner Street to Garden Street, from 4 to 5 p.m. The parade starts at 4:30 p.m.

Students have been celebrating Homecoming all week long. They’ll do more of the same when the Wildcat football teams take to the field at 7 p.m. for a Big North Conference battle with Traverse City Central.

The 2019 Alpena High School Hall of Fame inductees will be honored at the game. They include Garrett Francis from the class of 1992, and Paul Dickinson from the class of 1973.

Friday’s game will be broadcast live on 107.7 the Bay.
