An event that provides free products and services to less fortunate families will be held at St Bernard’s Friendship Room Thursday, from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

Alpena Human Services Coordinating Council is hosting the Project Connect event, which includes free haircuts, dental cleanings and health screenings.

Personal hygiene products and/or household cleaning supplies will be handed out until they are gone; and local non profits and service organizations will be on hand to explain programs and services available for families and veterans.

“This Project Connect event is for anyone who can benefit from a little extra help!,” said Malinda Amlotte, chair of the Human Services Coordinating Council. “The elderly, the disabled, working families, caretakers or anyone needing to connect with community resources – all are welcome to attend.”

Amlotte also said that attendees do not need to show proof of income to take advantage of the free services and products.

A free hot meal will be served at the event, and free seasonal produce will be available to take home.
