More utility work, street closures & water shut offs in Alpena

Crews for the City of Alpena will be conducting more utility repairs Wednesday.

Ripley Boulevard, between Fourth and Sixth avenues, will be closed to all traffic while one of the projects is being completed.

At the same time, other crews will be making utility repairs at the intersections of Fifth Avenue and Helen Street, and Fifth and June
Street. The two intersections will also be closed to traffic.

All of the utility repairs are expected to be completed today, however motorists should expect temporary closures over the next two weeks for street repairs.

In addition, some residents in the areas of the work will be without water service for most of today. A list of affected areas can be viewed below.

PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS WILL BE WITHOUT WATER SERVICE WEDNESDAY, FROM APPROXIMATELY 8 A.M. TO 5 P.M. :

Ripley Blvd. from Fourth Ave. to Campbell St.
June St. from Fourth Ave. to Sixth Ave.
Helen St. from Fourth Ave. to Sixth Ave.
Fifth Ave. from Ripley Blvd. to Oliver St.
Sixth Ave. from June St. to Helen St.
