The 6th annual Thunder Bay Folk Festival is being held this weekend, on the grounds of the Alpena Antique Tractor and Steam Engine Club off French Road.

The three-day festival of live music also features children’s activities, music and craft workshops, campfire jams, firelit drum kiva, mind/body tent, open mic, camping, and food, drink and more.

The gates open at noon Friday, and the first band takes the stage at 5 p.m. Music will be featured on three separate stages over the weekend.

Bands will also be performing all day and night Saturday; and again at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Advance tickets are $20 on Friday, $25 on Saturday or $45 for a weekend pass. Camping is available for an additional $20.

The City of Alpena has proclaimed this week “Thunder Bay Folk Festival week.” Mayor Matt Waligora urges area residents to “recognize and support the efforts of the Thunder Bay Folk Society.”
