The Montmorency County Sheriff’s Office responded to 98 complaints over the week, including multiple calls for auto accidents, downed trees and loose dogs.

Deputies were sent to a single vehicle rollover crash last Monday in Vienna Township. No injuries were reported.

Five separate calls came into the department last Thursday, for loose dogs. And the calls were from different parts of the county. A Rust Township man called police early in the morning after he was chased by a dog while jogging. The owner of the animal was issued a citation for dog at large.

Deputies, road commission employees and power company workers were all busy last week Sunday, after three downed trees caused problems in Hillman and Albert townships.

Deputies were also sent to Hillman two times that day – once to investigate a possible larceny; and once to respond to an alleged assault. The larceny remains under investigation.
