No one was seriously injured Wednesday, following a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Third Avenue and Ripley Boulevard.

According to Alpena City police, shortly after noon a 73 year-old man was southbound on Ripley in his pickup truck when he ran a red light at Third and was struck by a SUV that had pulled out from the intersection. The force of the impact caused the truck to roll onto its side and strike a third vehicle that was waiting at the Ripley traffic light.

The 73 year-old man and the 49 year-old woman who was driving the SUV were taken to the hospital, treated for minor injuries and released. A passenger in the SUV and the driver of the third vehicle were not hurt.

The 73 year-old man was ticked for disobeying a red light.

City police and fire crews were assisted by the Michigan State Police.
