The Perseid Meteor shower will take center stage at Negwegon State Park Tuesday night.

A Meteors and S’mores event will be held at the park from 9 to 11 p.m.

A small campfire and S’mores will be provided along with a pristine stargazing opportunity. S’mores will be available while supplies last. Attendees should meet at the main beach and bring blankets, seating and bug spray.

The park is located in Alcona and Alpena counties.

For additional information on the Meteors and S’mores event, contact Harrisville State Park at 989-724-5126.

In an unrelated matter, Clear Lake State Park, north of Atlanta, is hosting an introduction to archery program Friday, between 1 and 3 p.m. All supplies will be provided.

In addition to target shooting, participants will learn about the evolution of archery. The class is limited to the first 25 people. Participants should meet at the park headquarters service area.
