For the second time in as many weeks, gas prices in Michigan are lower.

AAA says the new statewide average price for a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded fuel is about $2.64, down 11 cents.

The new average price is also 23 cents less than this time last month and about 36 cents less than this time last year.

Of the stations it surveys, AAA found the most expensive gas in Ann Arbor and metro Detroit where it’s about $2.76 a gallon. The cheapest gas at $2.46 was found in the Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland area.

Motorists in the Alpena area were paying an average of $2.35 per gallon early Tuesday morning, however several stations raised prices to $2.75 a gallon late Monday afternoon.
